xHamster is a free pornographic video sharing site headquartered in Houston, Texas, U.S. As of November 2015 it has an Alexa ranking of 72.[2]
In April 2016, the site blocked users with IP addresses based in North Carolina, due to a recent law in the state stopping its counties and cities from passing laws to protect LGBT people.[3]
Malvertising
Researcher Conrad Longmore claims that advertisements displayed by the sites were found to contain malware programs, which install harmful files on users' machines without their permission. Mr Longmore told the BBC that two popular sites – XHamster and Pornhub – pose the greatest threat.[4][5]
