Yadav Singh corruption case

Yadav Singh corruption case is case of corruption in Uttar Pradesh.

Yadav singh was engineer-in-chief of Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority . Raids conducted by the Income Tax Department in November 2014 showed that Singh owned huge property disproportionate to his known sources of income.[1] He was suspended by UP government and in February 2015 a one-member judicial commission to probe into the multi-crore case was set up the state government.[2] In July 2015 Allahabad High Court directed CBI to investigate the case stating that allegations were most serious and the probe was complex.[3] Uttar Pradesh government went to Supreme Court of India against the High Court's order however the Supreme Court refused to entertain the government's plea.[4]

Earlier too in March 2012 he was suspended and an FIR filed against him in a Rs 954-crore properties scam. However in 2013 the Akhilesh Yadav closed the case and cancelled his suspension and reinstated him to the same post.[5]

Yadav Singh has no formal degree in engineering.[6] Singh was promoted to the post of assistant project engineer in 1985 without the requisite engineering degree. Singh was once again elevated to the post of project engineer (PE) in 1995 when he did not have an engineering degree.[7]
