Ziaul Faruq Apurba, (Bengali: জিয়াউল ফারুক অপূর্ব, born: June 27, 1985[1]) commonly known by his last name Apurba, is a Bangladeshis model and actor.[2][3] He usually works in television,[4] but has also appeared in films.[5] He is also a singer.[6]

Early life

His mother, Firoza Ahmed, was an artist of Rajshahi Betar and his maternal grandmother was a well known presenter in Rajshahi Betar. Apurbo interested in showbusiness from an early age. He won the title of “Mr. Bangladesh” in 2002 in the talent hunt show called "You Got the Looks".[7]

Career

Apurba started his career in Gazi Rakayet’s drama Boibahik in 2006.[8] He made his debut as a model in Amitabh Reza Chowdhury's directed TV commercial for Nescafe. His TV commercial for Lab Aid also got popularity. Apurba had set up a production house named "ASI Creations Limited" and started directing through the telefilm titled Backdated in 2012.[9] He voiced the title track of Shihab Shahin’s drama serial Bhalobasar Chotuskone.[10]

Personal life

Apurba married country popular model and actress Sadia Jahan Prova on August 18, 2010.[11] Apurba divorced Prova on February 21, 2011,[12] being cognizant about the illicit relationship with Prova’s ex-boyfriend Rajib. After separation with Prova, he got married again with Nazia Hassan Audity on December 21, 2011.[13] Apurba and Audity has a son named Zayyan Faruq Ayyash and both father and son share same birthday.[14]

Filmography

Apurba's debut film is Gangster Returns released on 27 November 2015, directed by Ashikur Rahman. He was cast in the film Brishti Din, directed by Morshedul Islam, but it was cancelled after a few days shooting.[15]
