1947–48 in English football

The 1947–48 season was the 68th season of competitive football in England.

Arsenal won the league title this season for the sixth time in their history, having been league champions five times during the 1930s.

Manager Matt Busby oversaw Manchester United's first major trophy for 37 years, as they beat Blackpool 4-2 in the final of the FA Cup, after going behind twice in the first half of the match.
