Juventus F.C. honoured the victims of the Heysel disaster by winning the 1985-86 domestic league title, which was won when rivals Roma fell apart in the final part of the season. Michel Platini was once again the clubs's top goalscorer, and gelled well with controversial signing Aldo Serena, purchased from arch rivals Torino. Other crucial players included defenders Gaetano Scirea and Antonio Cabrini plus goalkeeper Stefano Tacconi. Juventus conceded only 17 goals in the whole league campaign.
