1991 Minnesota Vikings season
1991 was the 31st year of season play for the Minnesota Vikings and the 72nd regular season of the National Football League. The Vikings finished with a record of eight wins and eight losses. Head coach Jerry Burns retired after the season.
It was Herschel Walker's final season with the team as he was released in the 1992 off-season. Entering his third season with the Vikings, Walker had another frustrating season, once again failing to reach the 1,000 yard mark in each of his two full seasons with the team. The Walker trade to Minnesota was a bust as the Dallas Cowboys used several draft picks to build a powerhouse that would go on to win three Super Bowls.
