2010 FIFA World Cup Group D
Group D of the 2010 FIFA World Cup began on 13 June and ended on 23 June 2010.[1] The group consisted of Germany, Australia, Serbia and Ghana. Along with Group G, it was considered to be a group of death.[2]

Serbia vs Ghana
Ghana scored the only goal five minutes before the end when Asamoah Gyan converted a late penalty which was awarded for a handball by substitute Zdravko Kuzmanović. Before that, Serbian Aleksandar Luković was sent off after being shown a second yellow card.

Germany vs Australia
After 8 minutes, Mesut Özil's cross was fired home by Lukas Podolski. Mark Schwarzer managed to get a hand to the shot but the ball went in regardless. Miroslav Klose doubled the German lead just before the half-hour mark by heading in German captain Philipp Lahm's cross. In the second half, Australian forward Tim Cahill was shown a red card for a tackle on Bastian Schweinsteiger. Thomas Müller further extended Germany's lead by firing home from outside the 18-yard box. Moments later substitute Cacau made it 4-0 in favour of Germany from inside the penalty area.
Germany vs Serbia
Serbia went ahead in the 38th minute with a goal from winger Milan Jovanović. In the 59th minute, Serbia centre-back Nemanja Vidić was booked for a handball in the penalty box, but the ensuing penalty kick from Lukas Podolski was saved by goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković.[6]
Ghana vs Australia
Australia opened the scoring after eleven minutes when Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Kingson parried Mark Bresciano's free kick, but Brett Holman shot in the rebound. Ghana was awarded a penalty after Harry Kewell was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the penalty area and was shown a red card. Asamoah Gyan converted the resulting spot kick for the equaliser. No goals were further produced, and the game finished 1-1.
