Tournament rules

Like previous seasons, teams play a number of qualifications matches, which determines their seeding rank. The top 8 seeds become alliance captains, and they select two additional teams during alliance selections to create a full alliance which remains together to compete during elimination matches, a three-round best-two-of-three single elimination tournament.[3]
