Air Carnival is a proposed airline promoted by the CMC group, a Coimbatore based conglomerate. The airline received its No-objection Certificate from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for regional operations in June 2014[2] and is in the process of obtaining an Air Operator Permit (AOP) as a scheduled regional airline.[3] The airline is expected to commence operations in May 2016 with Coimbatore International Airport as its hub and connecting to other regional airports.[4] The airline will initially start services with three ATR 72-500 aircraft and plans to add two more by the end of 2016.[5][6]
