Azores regional election, 2008

The Azores regional election of 2008 was held on 19 October 2008.

Results

The Socialist Party had the most votes with 44,940 (49.92% of the votes), electing 30 members of the Assembly; the Social Democratic Party had 27,254 votes (30.27%), electing 18 members; the Democratic and Social Centre - People's Party had 7,857 votes (8.73%), electing 5 members; the Left Bloc had 2972 votes (3.30%), electing 2 members; the coalition between the Portuguese Communist Party and the Partido Ecologista "Os Verdes" had 2,829 votes (3.14%), electing 1 member, the Earth Party had 674 votes (0,75%), electing no members of the Assembly; the Democratic Party of the Atlantic had 627 votes (0,70%), electing no members; and the People's Monarchist Party had 423 votes (0,47%), electing 1 member.[1]
