2001 Baghdad Cup
The 2001 edition was held on 14 November 2001 between Al-Talaba and Al-Zawra'a by the Ministry of Tourism. This was actually a 2001–02 Iraqi Premier League match, but also functioned as the cup match with the winners receiving the Baghdad Cup trophy as well as the three points in the league. Al-Talaba won the match 2–1 thanks to goals from Sabah Jeayer and Younis Mahmoud.

2013 Baghdad Cup
The 2013 version was held on 16 June as part of the Festival of Brotherhood, Love and Peace, a festival held to promote peace in Iraq. Al-Kadhmiya and Al-Adhmiya played against each other to open the festival with Al-Kadhmiya winning 1–0 thanks to Raddad Suhail's goal, before rivals Al-Shorta (who were top of the league at the time) and Al-Zawra'a (who were second in the league at the time) played out the cup final. Al-Shorta won 1–0 with Hussein Karim's second-half goal. Al-Shorta also won the Iraqi Premier League in that season to complete the double.[1]

2015 Baghdad Cup
The 2015 version was held on 21 March in support of the Iraqi Armed Forces and was contested by Baghdad's top four clubs: Al-Shorta, Al-Zawra'a, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Talaba. Each match was only 30 minutes long as opposed to 90 minutes and were all played on the same day, one after another, therefore not counted as competitive games. Al-Zawra'a won the mini-tournament by defeating Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in a penalty shootout in the final.[2][3][4]
