Batman: Fear Itself is a novel set in the universe of DC Comics superhero Batman by science fiction authors Michael Reaves and Steven-Elliot Altman. The novel features the Scarecrow. The novel is a sequel to Batman: Dead White and Batman: Inferno.
Characters
- Bruce Wayne/The Batman – a vigilante early in his crime fighting career that has taken it upon himself to protect Gotham City from a vast criminal underworld. Little does the public know that the Batman is secretly an alias of Bruce Wayne, a famed billionaire philanthropist and resident of Gotham.
- James Gordon – a young captain of the Gotham City Police Department who is secretly allied with the Batman.
- Alfred Pennyworth – Bruce Wayne's trusted butler and closest ally.
- Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow – a supervillain who commits crimes with the assistance of a hallucinogen that causes his victims to hallucinate their greatest fears.
