Beautiful Song is an English language song written by Rolans Ūdris and music composed by Ivars Makstnieks and performed by Anmary, who represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku.[1]
The lyrics talk about the hopes and dreams of a young aspiring artist who wants to make big encouraged by her mother told her "to grow and be a singer" and her father who "just smiled and gave me my guitar..." The song uses many Eurovision clichés and makes references to Johnny Logan multiple winner at Eurovision ("I was born in the distant 1980s, the year that Johnny Logan won..."). She also makes references to Sir Mick Jagger and Sir Paul McCartney.
The song failed to reach the Eurovision final, finishing in 16th place of 18 entrants in the first semi-final.
