Eurovision Song Contest
Twelve acts contested Portuguese national final Festival da Canção. In the end Filipa Sousa won the right to represent Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Vida minha". The winner was decided via a 50%-50% professional jury and televoting. Filipa won both the jury and public vote. RTP devoted the festival to fado that marked the accession of traditional Portuguese music to UNESCO’s Oral and Intangible World Heritage list.[2]
The song performed in the second semi-final and failed to progress to the grand final, finishing in 13th place.
Composition
