Beep is a reloadable contactless smart card aimed to be a replacement for the magnetic card-based system in paying rail based rapid transit transportation fares in and around Metro Manila. Beep is also aimed to be used in lieu of cash in some convenience stores and other businesses. The Beep system is implemented and operated by AF Payments Incorporated, which is primarily owned by Ayala Corporation and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.

Card types

Single Journey

A single journey card costs from ₱13 to ₱30, and can be purchased initially at all LRT and MRT stations.

Stored Value

There is a stored value card for sale that initially costs ₱20 for the card alone. The card has a maximum load limit of ₱10,000 which is valid for 5 years from the date of first purchase of the card. Reloading of the stored value cards will initially be at all LRT and MRT stations, which could then be expanded into several convenience stores and other stores and brands that will participate in the system. Self-service recharge machines are also available at all LRT and MRT stations to add value to the card. Due to its popularity, from 12 October 2015, new stored value Beep Cards quickly ran out of stock, and were replenished later in the following months.

Third-party/add-on cards

Due to the card increase popularity other company from banks to mobile company now selling beep card with additional feature (ie. paymaya,[2] globe Gcash,[3] etc..) which also include additional feature like using as a debit card.
