Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation of Pakistan (BSMF) is a nonprofit foundation based in Pakistan.[1][2][3]
History
The Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation was founded in the Pakistani city of Lahore by the Pakistani activist and lawyer Mr. Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi for proving Bhagat SIngh innocent, for seeking compensation, for spreading awareness of activities done by Bhagat Singh, for creation of memorial and renaming of official roads and buildings in Bhagat Singh's memory.[4][5]
Bhagat Singh Birth Place Memorial
It was in 1907 that Bhagat Singh, the famous Indian martyr was born here.[6] Bhagat Singh's ancestral village was near Banga, India, his family had just moved and was living in the canal colonies of called chak 105 GB which in now renamed Banga in Pakistan in Layallpur district (now called Faisalabad district) where people from the area of Banga, India had settled when he was born there. It is very old village. Still there are many historical houses built by sikhs, who migrated to India after the Partition of India.[7]
The Bhagat Singh Birth Place Memorial in Pakistan is based in Banga village in Faisalabad District (previously called Lyallpur) in the Punjab province of Pakistan where Bhagat Singh was born in 1907.[7] Government of Pakistan has declared it a national heritage site, Government of Punjab, India has offered help for the purchase and setting up of a world class memorial and the Government of Pakistan has already spent five crore rupees to preserve the site.[2][5][8][9]
Bhagat Singh Memorial Fair in Pakistan
The Bhagat Singh Memorial Fair in Pakistan is an annual fair held by Bhagat Singh Memorial FOundation of Pakistan at the birth place of Bhagat Singh Banga (previously called Chak 105 GB) village in Faisalabad District (previously called Lyallpur) in the Punjab province of Pakistan on his martyrdom day of 23 March.[2][5][8]
Reopening Bhagat Singh law suit
The founder of the foundation, Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi has filed a law suit in Lahore High Court for re-opening of the Bhagat Singh's legal case to prove his innocence and to obtain monetary compensation from British government against the trumped up charges and unfair trail by the British Raj.[4] Lahore High court decided to hear the case starting from February 2016.[1][3][8][10]
