The discography of Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler consists of 16 studio albums, 2 live albums, 4 extended plays, 83 singles and an incomplete but large number of compilation albums. Tyler's first single was released in 1976 after a signing with RCA Records. "My! My! Honeycomb" was never released on a CD until her 2002 compilation Total Eclipse Anthology was released by Sanctuary Records. She released her debut album, The World Starts Tonight, in 1977, featuring her first hit single "Lost in France". The album only charted in Sweden, though peaked at number two.[1] "Lost in France" was a hit in Europe, and certified silver by the BPI.[2]

Tyler's second album Natural Force was released in 1978. The album peaked at number sixteen on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[3][4] Natural Force produced five singles, four of which were hits. The most successful single was "It's a Heartache" (1978), which became a number one hit in France, Sweden, Norway and Canada, and certified Platinum by the SNEP.[5] Tyler released two more albums with RCA, Diamond Cut and Goodbye to the Island.

Upon leaving RCA, Tyler signed with Columbia Records and begun working with Jim Steinman, who was most famous for his work with Meat Loaf on Bat Out of Hell. Tyler's fifth studio album Faster Than the Speed of Night was released in 1983, and became the best-selling album of her career. It was certified 2× Platinum by Music Canada,[6] and Platinum by the RIAA,[4] reaching number one in the UK, Norway and New Zealand.[7] "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was released as the album's lead single, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and in the UK, as well as many other countries. The song was certified Platinum by the RIAA and Music Canada,[4][6] and Gold by the SNEP,[5] FIMI[8] and BPI.[2] Her later single "Holding Out for a Hero" was released in 1984, and became a number one hit in Ireland with its re-release in 1985. The song was later released on Tyler's follow-up album Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire (1986). The album reached number one in Norway, and was certified Gold by the SNEP.[5] Success in America could not be replicated, however, with the album only reaching number 106 on the Billboard 200.[3] Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire also contained Tyler's last charting US single "If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)", which peaked at number seventy-seven. Her final album with Columbia, Hide Your Heart, was a European success and most successful in Norway, where it reached number two.[9]

The singer's success was limited to continental Europe in the early 1990s with the release of three albums with Hansa Records. Her eighth album Bitterblue (1991) was certified 4× Platinum by the IFPI Norway.[10] The single of the same name was a top five it in Norway and Austria. Tyler's subsequent releases Angel Heart (1992) and Silhouette in Red (1993) were both certified Platinum by the IFPI Norway.[10] Success declined later in the decade when Tyler signed with EastWest Records. Her album All in One Voice (1998) was the worst charting album of Tyler's career, failing to impact any album charts worldwide.

Tyler's filmography is also listed. Her first film appearance was singing the opening theme to The World Is Full of Married Men in 1979.
