Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween is an upcoming 2016 American horror comedy film written and directed by Tyler Perry. Ozzie Areu, Will Areu and Perry are producing the film for Tyler Perry Studios. The idea for the film originated from a fictitious Madea Halloween movie from Chris Rock’s 2014 film Top Five.[1] It is the second Madea film (the first being Madea's Witness Protection) to not be adapted from a stage play. Lionsgate will distribute the film which is scheduled to be release on October 21, 2016.

Synopsis

Madea spends Halloween keeping an eye on a group of misbehaving teens and fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies.[2]

Production on Boo! A Madea Halloween began in mid-January 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia. On March 4, 2016, Lionsgate released a teaser trailer for the film.[4]
