Código Postal (Postcode) is a Mexican telenovela produced by Televisa and aired in Mexico on the network canal de las estrellas. It debuted on May 22, 2006 and finished on February 23, 2007 with hopes of duplicating the popularity of Mexican telenovela Rebelde which ended on June 2, 2006. Código Postal was replaced with Lola...Érase una vez.
The serial takes place in Acapulco, a popular tourist destination in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The series is set within an exclusive gated community where the bulk of the cast resides. Like many Mexican telenovelas the cast comprises young, attractive actors, and many of the plotlines revolve around suspense, heavy struggles, love and romance.
Plot
Vibrant! Extereme! A telenovela brimming with energy, youth and beauty that revolves around the lives of a privileged group of gorgeous girls and hunky guys who live as friends and neighbors in an upscale residential complex in the tropical port town of Acapulco. With this paradise of natural beauty as a backdrop, a whole range of situations will be played out, from light, carefree incidents to moments of intense drama that will totally captivate teenage audiences around the world, who will readily identify with these true-to-life characters. Fresh young characters such as Regina and Patricio, caught in a web of impossible love and unable to stop the gradual disintegration of their family life. Or like their friend Afrodita, who is determined to save her younger sister Venus from the clutches of a fiend whom her mother has welcomed into their home... and her heart. We will also meet Memo, who comes in search of the grandfather he has never met, and through a curious misunderstanding ends up being hired as the old gentleman’s chauffeur. Under this assumed identity he will find true love with Daniela, his grandfather’s secretary, but he will also have to deal with a startling and painful revelation. Daniela is the daughter of Avelino (the colorful handyman of the residential complex), sister of Ezequiel (Patricio’s best friend) and Chuy, a child genius who spends his time doing experiments and searching for hidden treasures. We will enter the home of Pablo and his brother Rafael, who lost his sight in an accident, yet whose real limitation is his mother’s smothering overprotection. She blames Pablo for the accident. Both will eventually rebel against their mother’s controlling nature and come closer together in their passion for music... and their love for Afrodita. Step by step, we will follow Marcela’s brave struggle to support her siblings (Hector, Ines and Andrea) after the murder of their parents. She will fight to save their inheritance from the dastardly schemings of their evil uncle, aided by Memo and with the moral support of their friends. These, and many other memorable characters, will bare their souls to us in the daily pursuit of their dreams and aspirations, and in the different ways in which they face the harsh trials of life: temptation, disappointment, deceit and betrayal that will bring them pain, but also experience. They will come to realize that family is everything, and that happiness can only be found when there is love and friendship in your life,... especially if you live in Paradise.
This telenovela had a very big success until the episode 83 when the Main Heroine Regina Corona played by Jery Sandoval was written off the show. The fans never knew the reason why Jery Sandoval was dismissed from the show, and that was a big question for them who wanted an answer and still haven't got it.
