Casalnuovo di Napoli [kaˌzalˈnwɔːvo di ˈnaːpoli] (Neapolitan: Casalnuovo 'e Napule) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 13 kilometres (8 miles) northeast of Naples. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 50,144 and an area of 7.8 square kilometres (3.0 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Casalnuovo di Napoli contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Casarea, Tavernanova, and Licignano.
Casalnuovo di Napoli borders the following municipalities: Acerra, Afragola, Casoria, Pollena Trocchia, Pomigliano d'Arco, Sant'Anastasia, Volla.
