The Chicago Inferno were an American soccer club based in Wheaton, Illinois, United States. The team played from 2012 to 2014 in the USL Premier Development League, the fourth division of the American soccer pyramid, in the Heartland Division of the Central Conference.

The Inferno play their home matches at Joe Bean Stadium on the campus of Wheaton College.

History

The Chicago Inferno were founded in 2009 to compete in the National Soccer League of Chicago. In 2011, the club joined the Great Lakes Division of the USL Premier Development League (PDL), one of the top amateur leagues in the country alongside the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), and considered the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid.[1]

On December 6, 2013 the club appointed Dino Delevski as head coach.[2]

On June 20, 2014, the Inferno withdrew their PDL and Super-20 teams from the United Soccer Leagues. [3][4]
