The Windy City Bulls are an American professional basketball team of the NBA Development League and an affiliate of the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. Based in northwest-suburban Hoffman Estates, Illinois, the team will play their home games during the 2016–17 season at the Sears Centre, 25 miles from Chicago. The team became the thirteenth D-League team to be owned by an NBA team.[2]

The team was named through a contest on the Chicago Bulls' website. Fans submitted about 3,600 suggestions, which were narrowed down to three finalists: Great Lakes Bulls, Heartland Bulls and Windy City Bulls.[3] Windy City was announced as the winner in a pep rally/press conference on February 24, 2016.[4]
