Carlos Darwin Quintero Villalba (born 19 September 1987) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga MX club América. He is a naturalized citizen of Mexico.[1]

Club career

Early career

After being transferred from Deportes Tolima in the Copa Mustang to FC Krylia Sovetov Samara along with fellow Colombian and Tolima Team Mate Juan Carlos Escobar in Russia he quickly returned to Colombia after an unsuccessful run in Europe.

Santos Laguna

In 2009, Quintero was transferred to Club Santos Laguna of the Mexican Primera División for $4 million. Quintero made his debut against Club América losing 2–1 playing all 90 minutes. Quintero scored his first goal against Chivas in which Santos won 2–1. Quintero scored two goals against Montreal Impact in the Concacaf Champions League in a 5–2 win.

Quintero scored his first & goal of the 2011–2012 season against Atlante F.C. in a 3–0 win. He then scored his second goal against Club Tijuana, which Santos lost 3–1. Quintero scored another goal against Puebla F.C. in which the game ended 2–1 to Santos. On week 12 Quintero scored another goal against Querétaro F.C.. The game ended 3–1. After six games undefeated Santos lost to Estudiantes Tecos where Quintero scored the first goal for Santos, but the game ended in a 5–2 defeat for his club. The week after that Quintero scored the first goal of the game against Club América on the third minute in an eventual 1–1 draw. In the playoffs Quintero scored the first goal against Chiapas in a 2–1 win. Quintero scored his first goal of the Calusura 2012 against Club Tijuana, where Santos won 3–1. On Week 11 he scored his second goal away at Cruz Azul in a 1–0 win for Santos. Quintero scored his third goal of the Clausura 2012 season making this his ninth goal in the 2011–2012 season against Toluca in an away game which ended 3–1 on April 1.

On November 27, 2014 Quintero announced that he was leaving Club Santos Laguna.

Club America

On December 16, 2014 Quintero was transferred to Club America. On January 10, 2015 he made his debut with america scoring the winning goal in a victory 3–2 against leon

International career

He has was part of the Colombia U-20 team in 2007 and made his senior Colombia debut against Paraguay on 11 October 2008 in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification match. He scored his first goal against Mexico in a 2–1 friendly win on 30 September 2009.
