Demontre Hurst (born March 24, 1991) is an American football safety for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Oklahoma and attended Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas.[1]
Early years
Hurst played high school football for the Lancaster High School . He recorded 75 tackles, three fumble recoveries, one force fumble, five interceptions and one interception return for a touchdown his senior year.[1]
College career
Hurst played from 2009 to 2012 for the Oklahoma Sooners.[1]
Professional career
Chicago Bears
Hurst was signed by the Chicago Bears on April 28, 2013 after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was released by the Bears on August 31, 2013. He was signed to the Bears practice squad on September 4, 2013. Hurst was signed to a futures contract by the Bears on December 11, 2013.[2] He made his NFL debut on special teams on September 7, 2014 against the Buffalo Bills.[3] He was released by the Bears on September 8, 2014.[4] Hurst was re-signed by the Bears on September 18, 2014.[2] He was released by the Bears on September 19, 2015 and signed to the team's practice squad on September 22, 2015.[5][6] He was promoted to the active roster on October 7, 2015.[6] Hurst was released by the Bears on October 19, 2015.[7] He was signed to the team's practice squad on October 21, 2015. He was promoted to the active roster on December 12, 2015.[6]
