Reviews
The episode received generally positive reviews from critics who agreed that it was a surprisingly effective set-up for the season finale.
Jeremy Rodriguez from The Young Folks thought that the episode wasn't "action-packed", but that "it served as an excellent precursor for the sixth season finale." In regards to the upcoming twin storyline, he commented that it "may be a little over the top but that’s what we love about PLL! It’s about time the show started getting back to basics." Writing for TV Equals, Mark Trammell shared the same sentiments and acknowledged that "as far as penultimate episodes of the season goes, it was a solid enough set-up, with some undeniably epic scenes for the “PLL” vaults that will no doubt spur a hundred different theories online." Despite opiniating that "season 6B's pacing seemed a bit off", Samantha Vincenty from Pop Crush commended the episode due to having "filled in a few emotional blanks and stepped on the gas plot-wise". However, Paul Dailly from TV Fanatic was dissatisfied with the episode and went on to call it "a dull outing that felt almost like a spoof of the show."
