The Division of Burt is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Western Australia. The division was created in 2015 and was named after the Burt Family, specifically Sir Archibald Burt, Septimus Burt and Sir Francis Burt.[3] The division is located in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth which had been represented by the divisions of Canning, Hasluck and Tangney respectively.[4]
The seat is currently vacant and will not elect its inaugural member until the next federal election which is expected to be held in 2016. Based on the results from the last federal election the division is notionally Liberal with an estimated two-party preferred margin of 6.1 percent.[5]
The seat presently comprises considerable portions of the City of Gosnells and the City of Armadale and portion of the City of Canning. Suburbs presently included are:[6]
