Eccleshall F.C. are an English non-league football club from Eccleshall, Staffordshire. They play in the North West Counties Football League Division One. The reserves play in the Staffordshire County Senior League Premier Division

History

The club was founded in 1971 and joined the Staffordshire County League (North) in 1979. They joined the Staffordshire Senior League in 1984, and won it for the first time in 1990.

After work was completed on their stadium in 2002, the club became eligible to join the North West Counties Football League, and they did so after winning the Staffordshire Senior League in 2003.

In the North West Counties Football League First Division they have had a number of lower half finishes. In 2007–08 they beat the reserve/youth sides of Stoke City 3–1 and Port Vale 3–2 to reach the semi-finals of the Staffordshire Senior Cup for the first time. They lost 1–0 at home in the semi-final to eventual winners Rocester.

In November 2014, the club parted company with manager Shaun Hollinshead and his management team.[1]

Records

The club's record home attendance is 2,011 for a match against F.C. United of Manchester on 5 November 2005. The previous record was 363 for a match against Wisbech Town in 1991.
