Ghargaon is an old village in a Tehsil Shrigonda in Ahmednagar District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located 240 km distance from its State Capital Mumbai and 120 km from Pune.
Geography
located at 18°36′58″N 74°41′53″E / 18.616°N 74.698°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 561 metres (1840 feet).
Nearby towns are Ahmednagar (41 km), Rahuri (71.5 km), Pathardi (73.9 km), Nevasa (93.8 km), Pune (110 km).

Almost all people of this village are dependent on farming. Below mentioned crops are major crops:

Culture
Historical monuments
The place consists of:
- Shivlinga, i.e. Temple of Lord Shiva- also called as Naganath Maharaj in local native language i.e. Marathi.
- Goddess Firangaimata Temple at Firangai mala and Goddess Tukaimata temple at Nimoni mala.
- In Gaothan, there are various temples like Sant Sawata Mali temple, Maruti Temple, Ganesha Temple etc.
Rituals
Ghargaon is a very peaceful village. People in here follow all the traditional Hindu rituals.
- Vijayadashami Dasara
On the occasion of 'Dasara' i.e. Vijayadashami people gather in village. Some people take part in Firangai mata palakhi which starts from Firangai mata temple which is 2 km towards the west and continue towards the main village. While other people joins them in village. After all this occasion to be celebrated so everyone gets there in the evening around 5 PM with vehicle washed and cleaned, so as to take part in racing. Race may be between farm tractors or horses.
- Akhand Harinam Saptah
The village have great history of varkari sampraday. Ghargaon arranging the saptah program near about 15 to 20 times in every year. It is one of the best cultural villages in Shrigonda.
