GoDigital Media Group (GDMG) is an entertainment industry related holding company and venture-capital fund. GDMG retains varying levels of interest in firms that have been incubated from concept, funded in early stages, merged or absorbed through acquisition. Founded in 2005, GDMG specializes in digital-media content-management, delivery and the monetization of music, movie, television and theatrical assets.[1]

Background

GoDigital Media Group's (GDMG) core business originated as GoDigital Music Group, a music distributor; GoDigital Records, a record label;[2][3] and Symbolic Entertainment, a film studio.[4] Other artists originally signed with GoDigital Records included Craig Range, FIN, Tom Langford, Terron Brooks, Adam Monroe, Plumbline and Forrest.[5]

In a 2008 reorganization, the firm created a subsidiary, under the shortened name GoDigital, which specializes in digital and video on demand movie distribution.[6] GoDigital's CEO Jason Peterson headed an in-house software development effort for digital supply-chain and rights management that became ContentBridge. Peterson assumed the position of CEO for ContentBridge Systems upon incorporation in 2010,[7] and Mulvey advanced from President to CEO at GoDigital.[8] GDMG's label was subsequent rebranded Cinq Music specializing in music distribution and rights management for recording artists.

Co-founder and CEO Jason Peterson is a director/producer.[4][9] Co-founder Logan Mulvey serves on the Board of Directors for the Entrepreneurs' Organization and board of advisors of the San Diego Film Festival.[10]

Co-founder Dave Lindsay served as GoDigital Media Group's CTO.

AdShare

AdShare is a social media (primarily YouTube content) monetization service for entertainment industry rights-holders.[11][12]

ContentBridge

ContentBridge (Content Bridge LLC) is a supply chain management (SCM), digital rights management (DRM), and encoding software provider for the entertainment industry.[13]

ContentBridge software was designed and developed in-house by the video on demand distribution company GoDigital for the film, recorded music and music publishing sectors.[14] Content Bridge LLC was launched as a separate entity in 2010, introduced as "Software as a service" (SaaS) in 2011, and signed an exclusive supply-chain management deal with GoDigital in July 2012.[15] ContentBridge 2.0 Beta was unveiled in May 2013 and announced plans for a multicloud distribution solution using Equinix, Interconnection Oriented Architecture (IOA), in April 2016.[16]

The software can be divided into components for adaptability to split-rights situations[13] and for different deliverable and receivable requirements, such as language localization, media content formats, date-sensitive release coordination (Windowing) and royalty accounting.[14][17] Both WYSIWYG web-interface and Application programming interface (API) versions are available.[18] Approved encoding relationships include iTunes, Vudu, Dish Network, PlayStation Store, Comcast, and iN DEMAND.[19]

Content Bridge was awarded the 2014 Industry Leadership Digital Award (Digi Award) in recognition of its unique software support for the EMA, SMPTE Interoperable Master Package (IMP), CableLabs and UltraViolet digital supply chain standards.[20][21]
