Grödig is a market town in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung in the state of Salzburg in Austria. At the foothills of the Bavarian alps, it is a popular destination to local residents or distant adventurers attracted to its nearby peak, Mount Untersberg. Grödig is also home to the multinational access control and security company SKIDATA.
Location
Grödig lies in the Flachgau on the southwest edge of the Salzburg basin at the foot of the Untersberg. It is directly on the Tauernautobahn exit Salzburg-Süd.
Katastralgemeinden are: Glanegg and Grödig. Subdivisions are: Eichet, Glanegg, Grödig, Fürstenbrunn, and Sankt Leonhard.
Sport
The football team SV Grödig competes in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.
