Herbel (Arabic: حربل, also spelled Herbil and Harbul) is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Nahiya Mare' of the A'zaz District of Aleppo Governorate, located northeast of Aleppo. Nearby localities include Tell Rifaat to the northwest, Mare' to the northeast, Maarat Umm Hawsh to the southeast and Ihras to the southwest. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics, Herbel had a population of 3,403 in the 2004 census.[1]
