Hysterical is a 1983 film from Embassy Pictures that was intended to spoof the horror movies that were abundant at the time. The Hudson Brothers star in this movie.
Plot
Frederic "Casper" Lansing (Bill Hudson) is a writer who hopes to find inspiration while vacationing in Hellview, Oregon; however, the lighthouse in which he's staying is haunted by the ghost of Venetia (Julie Newmar), who had killed herself 100 years ago and now wants to use Lansing as a vessel for her dead husband, Captain Howdy (Richard Kiel). When Howdy's ghost starts killing people, two bumbling scientists (Brett Hudson and Mark Hudson) are brought in to investigate the history of the lighthouse and solve the case.
The film is a spoof of John Carpenter's The Fog, and many other horror movies in the last couple of decades.
A repeated joke is that the "zombies" all wear turtle-neck sweaters and say "What difference does it make?" at which point the heroes all run off screaming "Zombies", another repeat joke is the lunatic character Ralph (Robert Donner) who tells everyone "You're doomed", and instead becomes injured himself.
