Idle and Thackley (population 14,541 - 2001 UK census) is a Ward in Bradford Metropolitan District in the county of West Yorkshire, England, named after the villages of Idle and Thackley around which it is drawn. The population had increased at the 2011 Census to 16,135.[1]
As well as the villages of Idle and Thackley, the ward includes the villages of Apperley Bridge, Greengates and a small part of the Thorpe Edge housing estate.
The ward is currently served by three Liberal Democrat councillors, Jeanette Sunderland (Leader of Bradford Council Liberal Democrats), Chris Reid and Alun Griffiths.
