Ilbono, Irbono in sardinian language, is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ogliastra in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) northeast of Cagliari and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of Tortolì. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,254 and an area of 30.9 square kilometres (11.9 sq mi).[1] Its economy is based heavily on heavy industry.[2]
Ilbono borders the following municipalities: Arzana, Bari Sardo, Elini, Lanusei, Loceri, Tortolì.
