Indian School Darsait is an Indian Community School in Muscat under the supervision of the Indian Embassy in Oman. This school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education Of India. It is located at Darsait, Muscat, in the Sultanate of Oman.
The school is located on two plots of land measuring 5000 sq m each, in two buildings one each for Primary and Secondary / Higher Secondary. The school started with 127 students and 6 teachers and within a span of nearly 15 years, it has grown to a strength of about 3200 students, 135 academic staff and 25 administrative staff, today. The school follows syllabi prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and offers Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Multimedia & Web Technology and Marketing as elective subjects in addition to the core subjects like English to the students of Classes XI and XII.
Location And History
Located at Darsait, Muscat City, in the dynamic, progressive and forward looking land of Sultanate of Oman, Indian School Darsait, a dream come true for many enterprising expatriate men and women with a vision of the future, came into existence in 1992. The dual advantage of maintaining the cultural identity and the ability to orient to face the admission process to the professional courses has made it an instantly sought-after educational center. ISD, started as part of Indian School Muscat, blossomed as an independent entity in 1995 and moved into the present premises in 1998. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), India and offers English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Multimedia and Web Technology and Marketing to the Higher Secondary Students.

Infrastructure Facilities
Within the constraints of its resources and resource allocation, ISD has always tried to live up to the expectations of its stakeholders. The available facilities in the school are a testimony to the success of this endeavor.
The school provides excellent quality infrastructure facilities to students, comparable with what any good school may offer. The science laboratories, including Physics, Chemistry and Biology, are fully equipped and well maintained. In line with our overall ICT initiatives and e-learning facilities, our Computer Science labs are state-of-the-art and provide one computer per child. The school libraries-primary and senior, have a good collection of books of all genre, reputed newspapers and the latest informative magazines and periodicals.
The school is equipped with a large 700-seat auditorium. Within the classrooms, split air-conditioners and white boards make learning an enjoyable experience. State-of-the-art 46” LED television monitors, in all the 72 classrooms, makes learning a fun experience.
The school has limited space, but within this a separate basketball court, volleyball court, cricket pitch (nets) and an indoor badminton court has been provided for the children. Systematic training, including coaching after school hours in sports and games has enabled our students to compete at the inter-school level in Oman and national level in India.
Achievements
- Indian School Darsait commonly known as ISD banged a good result in the CBSE Board Examinations.
- Three teachers of ISD got the best teachers award of Oman.
- First School outside India to be accredited with NABET.
- Four of Indian School Darsait students along with the Principal,Dr. Sridevi P. Thashnath were selected to attend Indian Republic Day Parade 2015 in New Delhi, India as part of Asianet News Proud to Be Indian (PTBI) in January 2015. Other schools from Oman which were selected for student representation in PTBI were Indian School Salalah, Indian School Jalan and Indian School Ibra.

ISD Alumni
Studying in Indian School, Darsait never meant to be amongst four walls and just indulges in books and notes, but it was a pleasure being part of this wonderful school family.
ISD Alumni is a collaborative effort between the school and the alumni towards keeping the spirit alive and bringing together the former students of the school to contribute in various ways possible towards our alma mater and also to glance and experience the precious moments spend with the school family.
The rules of being a member of ISD Alumni are as follows:
• Either a 10th pass out or a 12th pass out from ISD. i.e. He/She should have written the 10th or 12th board exam from ISD. • People not satisfying the above condition, can still be a member, if have done minimum 2 years continuous schooling in ISD.
