Delhi Private School, Sharjah (DPS, Sharjah), (in Arabic: مدرسة دلهي الخاصة ، الشارقة) is a for-profit private senior secondary school in Sharjah, UAE. The school was established in 2000 and is located in the school zone, in Sharjah industrial area No .16 [1][2][3] Affiliated to CBSE New Delhi,[4] it is the first school in the U.A.E to have branched out from its parent institute, Delhi Public School, New Delhi and runs under the aegis of Delhi Public School Society[5] which now also operates Delhi Private School, Dubai and DPS Academy in Dubai.

In 2014, the school was awarded the "Khalifa Award for Educational and Institutional Performance" (2013–14), given by Ministry of Education and the Sharjah Education Zone.[4] On 5 May 2014, the school was awarded the Green Flag by the committees of the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) (EWS-WWF).[6]

Education system

DPS, Sharjah follow the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum. The school offers education to students from KG1 to class 12. In 2005, DPS Sharjah has introduced the Comprehensive Learning Program (CLP), an online tool where parents and students can access assignments and extra learning material that are uploaded on a monthly basis. Grades 6-8 have Formative Assessments (FA) and Summative Assessments (SA), and grades 9-12 have Pre-board examinations and Board examinations from CBSE Board. The school has also adopted the CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) program. It has also introduced ECL dashboard effective classroom learning. Many students of DPS Sharjah have been winning many awards due to the constant encouragement of the school like the Sheikh Hamdan Award for student excellence and the Sharjah Award for academic excellence.
