Plot
In Lucknow, a simple girl Khushi Kumari Gupta's (Sanaya Irani) sister Payal is getting married. Khushi reaches Sheesh Mahal which belongs to an arrogant business tycoon Arnab Singh Raizada (Barun Sobti) where a huge fashion show is taking place. While searching for her brother-in-law, Khushi accidentally reaches the stage and falls into Arnav's arms, spoiling the show and angering Arnav.
Payal's marriage breaks due to the absence of Khushi who is locked up in Sheesh Mahal by Arnav. The next day he broadcasts the entire fashion show on news channels to defame her. She and her entire family leave Lucknow and travel to Delhi. She applies for a secretarial job in a fashion house only to realise that Arnav will be her new boss, however, she takes the job where her life is made horrible. She is made to work in the rain and is locked in a collapsing building. These circumstances lead to Arnav falling in love with Khushi, but having too much, Khushi decides to resign only to be employed by Arnav again as a governess in his house. While Arnav's cousin Aakash (Akshay Dogra) falls in love with Payal and soon the wedding preparations start.
Shyam Jha (Abhaas Mehta) lived in Khushi's house and even got engaged to her, but it is revealed that he is Arnav's sister Anjali's husband and he married her just for her wealth and lusts for Khushi. Khushi who dislikes him decides to meet one last time to end the chapter once and for all and meets Shyam to clear everything but is overheard by Arnav who misunderstands that Khushi likes Shyam and decides to keep her away from him to protect his sister's happiness. He makes a 6 month contract that Khushi has to marry him or he will stop Payal's wedding. Khushi accepts his offer and soon after Payal and Aakash's wedding they too get married secretly at a temple. When they reach Arnav's house everybody is displeased with their wedding, even her sister. Slowly and steadily everyone accepts her after a few hilarious incidents between Khushi and Arnav. Everything is perfect until Arnav professes his love to Khushi on the phone who realises something is fishy and discovers Arnav is kidnapped. She succeeds in finding him and escape and take shelter in a hut where they were about to consummate their marriage when Arnav realized the kidnappers were nearby, so he made Khushi unconscious and hid her so they couldn't find her and went with them alone. After regaining consciousness Khushi realises what has happened and promises to find the mastermind of this kidnapping. She soon realises that it is Shyam and slowly and eventually reached Arnav. Shyam realizing the trap decides to kill Khushi who is saved by Arnav in the nick of time.
They return home and reveal Shyam's truth to the family and he is thrown out by Arnav. Anjali who did not believe them stays away from Khushi as she was now pregnant with Shyam's child. Khushi decides to leave Shantivan as it would be better for everyone. Arnav, who is now in love with Khushi, is against this decision, so he makes her life at her maternal house terrible so that she will return home before their contract is over. After lot of persuasion and blackmailing, she returns home, to a new problem which is Arnav's paternal grandmother had returned after 14 years and dislikes Khushi. Arnav's past is revealed showing that Arnav and Anjali used to live in Sheesh Mahal with their family, and Arnav's name was originally Arnav Mallik. But Arnav's father had an extra marital affair with a lady named Garima and when Arnav's mother came to know about it she committed suicide. His father, unable to face anyone, shot himself, so after their death, they were thrown out and he decided to adopt his maternal name Raizada and lived with his nani, sister, cousin, uncle and aunt Manorama.
One night when Khushi was talking to Arnav about their incomplete marriage Daadi overhears it and decides to separate them but they decide to get married again with complete rituals because now they love each other while Shyam is watching them on security cameras. Anjali on the other hand is meeting Shyam secretly without the family's notice. On Khushi mehendi rasam, Anjali falls down and loses her baby, planned by Shyam. Seeing Anjali who doesn't want to eat and drink, Khushi brings back Shyam against Arnav's decision. Arnav gets mad at Khushi but he apologizes to her soon. On Khushi's mehendi ritual, Shyam is shooting on his camera and he notices that Garima panics when she hears that Daadi is going to meet her. He decides to find out what had happened and he knows the story from Anjali and Daadi. He makes Garima and Daadi meet and it is reveled that Garima is the woman who Arnav's father was having an affair with. Garima tells Daadi that she didn't know that Arnav's father was married nor had kids but she didn't believe her and she uses this reason to stop Arnav and Khushi's wedding. On Arnav and Khushi's wedding Daadi tells Arnav the truth. He leaves in anger and Daadi tells Khushi that Arnav won't come and relieves the truth in front of the guests and to the two families.
