The Journal of Thermal Spray Technology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that is dedicated to thermal spray science and its application for the improvement of material properties and functionality of coatings.
The Journal serves the thermal spray community and is at the interface between materials sciences and process engineering. It publishes critically reviewed scientific papers and engineering articles that combine novel research and development with current applications and problem solving.
The articles cover all fundamental and practical aspects of thermal spray science, including processes, feedstock manufacture, and coating testing, characterization and applications.
The journal regularly publishes review papers and special issues. The former critically discuss the major achievements in the field, identify the main areas of discussion, and draws attention to outstanding and novel research questions. The latter special issues, published approximately 2 times a year, present the latest achievements in the fields of advanced deposition technologies and coatings in specific application areas connected to societal needs: energy, transport, manufacturing, etc. The journal also publishes selected papers presented at the annual International Thermal Spray Conference.
