KJCE (1370 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to Rollingwood, Texas and serving the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The station airs a Talk radio format and is owned by Entercom Communications. It has a transmitter site in East Austin, and its studios are in West Lake Hills (with an Austin address). In 2015, the station began simulcasting on HD Radio, on the HD2 carrier of FM sister station KKMJ 95.5.

Programming

KJCE runs mostly nationally syndicated talk shows. Weekdays begin at 5 a.m. with This Morning, America's First News with Gordon Deal. Then at 8 a.m., Laura Ingraham airs, followed at 11 a.m. by Glenn Beck. At 1 p.m. KJCE carries Dave Ramsey, followed at 4 p.m. by Sean Hannity. In the evening, Michael Savage is heard at 8 p.m. and Clark Howard at 11 p.m. Overnight, KJCE airs Red Eye Radio.

Weekends feature shows on money, health, the outdoors, home improvement and cars. Bob Brinker is heard on Sunday nights. Some weekend shows are paid Brokered programming. KJCE carries CBS Radio News at the beginning of most hours. The station also carries football and basketball games from Texas A&M University.

History

KJCE first signed on the air as a 1000 Watt daytime-only radio station on August 28, 1958.^[1] It used the call letters KTXN and was one of the first Spanish language radio stations in Texas. It later became KOKE, the AM side of the legendary KOKE Country music radio brand in Austin in the 1970s. (An FM sister station 95.5 KOKE-FM, signed on in 1968, not related to today's KOKE-FM.) The AM station would later return to Spanish language as KMMM and also try a Beautiful music format before switching to satellite-delivered Urban adult contemporary as "K-Juice 1370," switching call letters to KJCE. KJCE became a talk station in 2002. The station formerly simulcast on the HD3 carrier of sister station Majic 95.5 as well as translator K242CC at 96.3 MHz. On July 29, 2013, both outlets dropped the KJCE simulcast and an Urban AC format was launched as "96.3 RNB."
