KVSN-DT is a Spanish-language full-service television station in southern Colorado, broadcasting in digital on UHF channel 48 under Program Test Authority. It is owned by Entravision Communications Corporation. The primary digital subchannel (48.1) is a Univision affiliate. Subchannel 48.2 is a UniMás affiliate, and subchannel 48.3 is an LATV affiliate.

Since KVSN is licensed as a full-power station, it will be able to mandate carriage on cable and satellite systems in the Colorado Springs/Pueblo market, beginning in the 2012-2014 cycle.

History

On April 10, 2007, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted a three-year construction permit to Entravision to build a new analog television station to serve the Pueblo/Colorado Springs, Colorado market on channel 48. It was given the call sign KVSN. Shortly after the permit was granted, Entravision opted to build KVSN as a digital-only station and filed an application in April 2008. KVSN commenced operations under automatic Program Test Authority on March 2, 2009, replacing Class A LPTV station KGHB-CA.[1][2] Its license was granted on June 5, 2009.
