Kalgansky District (Russian: Калганский район) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[2] district (raion), one of the thirty-one in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the krai. The area of the district is 3,140 square kilometers (1,210 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kalga.^[1] Population: 8,771 (2010 Census);^[4] 10,303 (2002 Census);^[7] 13,240 (1989 Census).^[8] The population of Kalga accounts for 39.1% of the district's total population.^[4]
