Kimberley Ann Estrop-Leggett (born 23 March 1993) is a Malaysian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2012. Leggett represented Malaysia at Miss Universe 2012. Leggett was born and raised in Tanjung Bungah,[1] Penang, Malaysia. She is of British-Serani[2] descent. Leggett is fluent in English, Malay and French.[3] She also studied Spanish and Mandarin whilst in University.

Early life

Leggett attended St.Christophers International Primary School in which she was a school prefect and awarded Sports Girl of The Year as well as the E.J. Bathe Award. It was during this time at school that Leggett began her sporting career representing her school in various sports including soccer, swimming and athletics up to state level at MSSM.[1] She later went on to The International School of Penang (Uplands) in which she again was a prefect and was awarded the Best Student in Design & Technology, Victrix Ludorum (Outstanding Female Athlete) and the Sports Person of the Year Award.[4]

In 2010, Leggett entered the Estee Lauder Model Search and was the youngest finalist at the age of 17.

Miss Universe Pageant

Miss Universe Malaysia 2012

Leggett was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2012[5] on 10 November 2011 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre by Deborah Priya Henry. She also won subsidiary titles: Miss Photogenic, Best Bikini Body, and Nestle Fitnesse Award. During her time as Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 Leggett was ambassador for the WWF Malaysia, Relay for Life and the Malaysian Nature Society amongst others. She worked as a model for various print ads, commercials and fashion shows and most notably appeared on the covers of NewMan Magazine, 260 Celsius and Shape Malaysia. In 2012, Leggett also worked as an emcee and hosted several shows for Malaysian International Fashion Week.

Miss Universe 2012

She participated in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas on 19 December to succeed the title from outgoing titleholder Leila Lopes from Angola. Although considered a big favourite and a front runner, she failed to place in the Top 16.[5]

Post-Miss Universe (2012-present)

Leggett graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, Australia at the end of 2015.[6] Leggett aspires to work in TV as a host however is currently focusing on a career as a personal trainer and nutrition coach after getting both her Certificate in Fitness and Precision Nutrition. She hopes to take up Physiotherapy in the following year in order to compliment her practice in the fitness line.[7] She has been a regular attendee of the Australian Health & Fitness Expo and has featured alongside Biggest Loser Australia's Commando Steve in Women's Health & Fitness Magazine in 2015.

Despite relocating to Australia, Leggett is still recognised as a personality in Malaysia. Following her reign she was recognised as Top 10 of Malaysia's Most Beautiful Women of 2012 and as FHM Malaysia's Top 20 Most Wanted Women 2012 & 2013.
