Kumyks was meant to be one of the Participating countries and regions competing in the first Bala Türkvizyon Song Contest. Although they are not a country nor a region they are a Turkic ethnic group who do not have a defined region.
History
Kumyks will make their début in the Bala Türkvizyon Song Contest at the 2015 festival, in Turkey.[1] However later on 7 December it was announced that they were forced to withdraw due to the current state of international relations between the Russian Federation and Turkey.[2]
