LGBT history in Hong Kong

Homosexuality in Hong Kong was criminalised in 1841 and decriminalised in 1991.[1] The age of consent between two males is 16, according to a Hong Kong court of appeals decision in 2006. There is currently no law regarding relations between two females. Same sex marriages are not recognised, and there are no anti-discrimination legislation concerning sexuality. Hong Kong people are generally respectful regarding freedom of sexuality. Prominent Hong Kong film star Leslie Cheung, admitted that he was bisexual, and received the same respect he had beforehand.[2]
