Lemont Furnace is a census-designated place[1] located in North Union Township in Fayette County in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. Its location is approximately 3 miles northeast of the city of Uniontown and approximately 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The community is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. At the 2010 census,[2] the population was 827.
Lemont Furnace is home to Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, a Commonwealth Campus of the Pennsylvania State University system. Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus serves the students in a five-county region of southwestern Pennsylvania, including Fayette, Greene, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
