UP continues to dominate Metrobank Foundation's Search for Outstanding Teachers (SOT) with over a score of winners, including Milagros D. Ibe (1987), Priscelina Patajo-Legasto (1998), Caesar Saloma (2007) and Dina Joana Ocampo (2009).

National Scientists

Several UP alumni and faculty members have been named as National Scientists of the Philippines. This is the highest award accorded to Filipino scientists by the Philippine government.
