2012 local election results in Liverpool
Elections to Liverpool City Council were held on 3 May 2012, on the same day as other United Kingdom local elections, 2012, in addition to electing a mayor for the region.
Councillors who were elected in the Liverpool Council election, 2008 defended their seats in 2012 and the vote share comparisons have been worked out on this basis.

By-Elections
In July two wards, Riverside and Allerton & Hunts Cross, held by-elections caused by Joe Anderson stepping down to take up the role of mayor and the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Vera Best. Both wards were won by Labour Party candidates.[1]
