Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office, Taipei
The Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office, Taipei (Chinese: 盧森堡台北辦事處; pinyin: Lúsēnbǎo Táiběi Bànshìchù) represents the interests of Luxembourg in Taiwan in the absence of formal diplomatic relations, functioning as a de facto embassy, since its establishment in 2009.[2]
However, the Consular Section of the Belgian Office, Taipei continues to provide administrative and consular services to Luxembourg nationals resident in Taiwan.[3]
Its counterpart with responsibility for Taiwan in Luxembourg is the Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium in Brussels, since the closure of the Luxembourg City office in 2002.[2] This had been established in 1975 as the Centre Sun Yat-sen.[4]
The Director General is Hugues Mignot, who previously served as head of the Belgian Trade Association (later renamed the Belgian Office, Taipei) before retiring in 2006.[1]
