Macaroni pie

Macaroni pie

Macaroni pie is a dish based on baked macaroni and cheese. There are two main variants: Scottish [1] and West Indian.[2] Claims of its Caribbean origin rest on the idea that it was developed in Trinidad and Tobago during the sugar cane field riots. Alternatively (or independently) it may have Scottish origins; in the Scottish version, a pie shell is filled with macaroni and cheese. In North America, this dish is commonly referred to as baked macaroni and cheese.
