it was opened in 1930 and build by Alfred Grenander. Closed a few months in 1945 it has been renovated in 2004-5. Now green panels are on the walls and the columns are painted green, too. Artworks of east German artist are seen on the walls of this station. Painted in a very abstract way they show parts of German history. In 1995 these paintings should vanish beyond advertisements but it was prevented by the culture department of the Berliner Senat.[1]
